2020 Peoria General Council Meeting

The 2020 Peoria General Council Meeting was held at the Peoria Showplace at Buffalo Run Casino on March 7, 2020. The Annual General Council Meeting was met with great success. Attendance was estimated at 125 people, with 86 voting members present. Chief Harper provided updates on the Peoria Tribal programs and enterprises, as well as having staff provide updates. In addition, each department within the Peoria Tribe was present to provide information and welcome attendees. A special guest from Illinois State Museum was in attendance and displayed numerous artifacts that are part of the Peoria Archeological collection at Illinois State Museum. The day was concluded with a ground breaking at the former Miami Country Club, where Chief Harper unveiled the plans for the future Peoria Campus with will include Woodland Academy Learning Center and Peoria Longhouse Community Center.

Thank you to Chief Craig Harper, his staff, and the Peoria citizens for all the work you do to maintain our strength and sovereignty as a Tribal Nation! We are #PeoriaProud !

Peoria Tribal Annual Stomp Dance

Thank you to all who attended the 2019 Peoria Children’s Christmas Party and the events hosted by the CCDF program! The Peoria Showplace was transformed into a magical winter wonderland! If you missed the events we hope to see you at Christmas 2020 “celebrations” we have planned.

 

 

The OU School of Dance is needing your help with promoting the Five Moons Dance Festival, a ballet dance festival commemorating the lives and accomplishments of 5 Native American ballerinas who worked their way onto the world stage.
