Peoria Shied violence prevention program focuses on support and empowerment of survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, stalking and dating violence. Peoria Shield is dedicated to providing culturally competent advocacy and support to survivors and their children. Our program strives to increase awareness about intimate partner violence in Ottawa County by providing outreach, education, and resources to the community.
Peoria Shield advocates strive to provide each victim of domestic violence, sexual assault, stalking and dating violence with the support, services, referrals, and advocacy to become survivors. Our advocates can provide survivors and their dependents with transportation, referrals, advocacy (with law enforcement, the courts, SANE, etc.), safety planning, life skill enhancement, meeting basic needs, etc.
