In the event of a child welfare emergency, contact 911 or the child abuse hotline in the state where the child(ren) resides.

Mission

The mission of Indian Child Welfare Services is to prevent the break-up of the Peoria family. ICW serves to protect children and preserve families of the Peoria Tribe. The ICW program strives to strengthen and empower families while promoting safety, stability, and nurturing home environments.

Services

The Indian Child Welfare Program provides child protection, prevention, reunification, adoption and post-adoption services to Peoria children and families. ICW monitors cases in state court systems to ensure the Indian Child Welfare Act is being observed in respect to Peoria children. ICW recruits and certifies Indian homes to serve as foster care placement for Peoria children removed from their homes due to abuse or neglect. ICW also serves as a social service liaison for many Peoria families.
