Peoria Ridge Golf Course

2017 marked another successful seasons at Peoria Ridge golf course. More than 20,000 golfers visited Peoria Ridge during the 2017 season which was comparable to the 2016 season that was the most active season on record. Golf course conditions were once again excellent as the golf course benefited from a rainy spring and mild summer. The food and beverage service had a very successful year owed in part to the increase in activity at the course as well as a busy banquet schedule.

During the 2017 calendar year there were 20,007 rounds of golf played at Peoria Ridge. This total was down from the previous year, but was the 2nd most active season on record. This decrease from the previous year is attributable to a particularly rainy start to the season. Mild summer temperatures, an active membership base, and excellent course conditions allowed a late summer comeback with August of 2017 being the most active single month at Peoria Ridge.

The condition of Peoria Ridge Golf Course continues to be a source of great pride. During the 2017 season Golf Course Superintendent Milton Hale, and the Peoria Ridge Maintenance staff worked tirelessly to provide customers with an unparalleled golfing experience. In addition to their regular maintenance duties the staff undertook several projects to improve the golf course. Several bunkers on the golf course were refurbished to improve drainage and playability, new mowing equipment was requisitioned and work is currently underway to construct a new pond on the 7th hole.

The Peoria Ridge Clubhouse continued to be an important asset. Not only did the clubhouse host numerous golf outings, but it once again provided a venue for several weddings, class reunions, and other special events. During the 2017 season, more than 25 non-golf related events were held in the Peoria Ridge Banquet Center. These events have become an important source of non-golf related revenue for Peoria Ridge.

2017 was a very successful year at Peoria Ridge Golf Course. Although total business was down from the previous year, the golf course has been operating at activity levels well above the averages of the last five to six years.  The facility was in excellent condition, and continued to be one of the areas’ most popular public golf courses. In the upcoming season we expect to capitalize on the excellent course conditions to realize continued improvement in the total number of visitors to Peoria Ridge. With a little cooperation from the weather it is not unreasonable to expect for the upcoming season to be one of the busiest seasons in the history of Peoria Ridge Golf Course.
