The Housing Authority of the Peoria Tribe of Indians of Oklahoma (PHA) administers several programs to assist Peoria Tribal members with their housing needs.
Low Rent –We currently have 1, 2, 3, 4 bedroom, and some handicap accessible apartments available in Fairland, Miami, Quapaw, and Wyandotte for low income Native American families. Rent is based upon income.
Mutual Help – Our Mutual Help program is a lease to own program available to Native American families who meet NAHASDA income guidelines.
Down Payment Assistance – Our Down payment assistance program is for Native American families who meet NAHASDA income guidelines. Applicant, if approved, will select housing of their own choosing and must secure a loan from a financial institution. The Housing Authority will provide down payment assistance of 20% of the purchase price up to $18,000. This program is limited to Ottawa and Delaware Counties.
Housing Improvement Program – Our Housing Improvement Program is for Native American families who meet NAHASDA income guidelines. This is a one-time grant for up to $15,000 for repairs or improvements to existing structures and is subject to available funding. Participants in any other Peoria Housing Authority Program are not eligible. This program is also limited to Ottawa and Delaware Counties.
Fair Market Value Homes – Our Fair Market Value Program is available to all. Rent on these units is not income based.
